After Lassus takes a number of the duets from Orlando Lassus’s Novae Aliquot and turns them around in the hand like plasticine – reshaping, stretching and compressing them, combining them, putting them in unfamiliar surroundings, and generally getting the coloured paint out.

Some of these duets are originally for two voices imitating one another, some are for two instruments without text. The soprano has no vocal duet partner here, so often ends up duetting with members or sections of the orchestra.
