Hermes Experiment premiere: I Find Planets

Firstly, The Hermes Experiment will give the premiere of my new commission for them, I Find Planets, at London’s King’s Place this Sunday 26 September, alongside pieces from their second album ‘SONG‘ on Delphian Records, and other things they’ve commissioned – stuff by Barbara Strozzi, Clara Schumann, Philip Venables, Laura Moody, Robin Haigh, Soosan Lolavar, Ayanna Witter-Johnson, Emily Hall, Olivia Chaney, Anna Meredith & Oliver Leith. The piece is written for their ensemble of soprano, harp, clarinet and double bass, with a text I’ve constructed out of material from Charles Bergquist’s ‘Newfound Planets‘ Twitterbot (@I_Find_Planets). It was due to be premiered last year but was postponed.

They’re also doing it at the Oxford Lieder Festival in October, and at London’s Blackheath Halls in November.
