Concerts at Trinity College
As part of my post as Visiting Fellow Commoner in the Creative Arts at Trinity College Cambridge, I’ve curated a pair of concerts at the college in early 2019, featuring music by me alongside other interesting pieces…
Firstly, the Fidelio Trio will perform on 6 February, and will perform my Piano Trio “The Chronophage”, alongside Piano Trio Two by Judith Weir (a previous Trinity VFCCA) and my favourite piano trio of all time, Ravel’s. The Fidelios previously gave the UK premiere of my Trio in 2014.
Secondly, violinist Daniel Pioro will perform a recital in April, featuring some gorgeous unaccompanied baroque music – Biber’s Passacaglia, Tartini’s Sonata in D Min and Bach’s Partita in D Min BWV 1004 – and some more recent music – my Études and Linda Catlin Smith’s Galanthus (Snowdrop). I am currently writing Daniel a violin concerto, which he will premiere with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in 2020.
I’m delighted these great musicians have agreed to come and play!
