‘Ryley’s Ramble’ for University of Manchester bicentenary
I’ve written a new piece, to be performed at the launch event of Universally Manchester Festival and Manchester Histories Festival, which celebrate the bicentenary celebrations of the University of Manchester.
Ryley’s Ramble, for flute, clarinet, violin & cello, will be performed by members of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra (with whom I’m Composer-in-Association), in a concert at Manchester’s Whitworth Art Gallery. Also in the event are two new pieces from Atefeh Einali and Renaldo Ramai for the BBC Phil, and a soundscape by Caro C and Elisa Artesero celebrating Alan Turing and Delia Derbyshire.
I studied at Manchester between 2007 and 2010, and it’s where I started wanting to be a composer – it’s lovely to be involved in their bicentenary celebrations.
Details are here – it’s free to attend.
